Writing a quick post today about a Game Swap I went to today.

I checked out a local game swap event recently, and it totally exceeded my expectations. It was hosted in a school gym, so I wasn’t anticipating much, but it turned out to be a total treasure trove. The place was packed with vendors offering all sorts of geeky goodies—everything from Intellivision to PS5 memorabilia, along with toys, Pokémon cards, and artists selling prints and stickers. I came across some amazing finds and was stunned by the price tags on vintage Pokémon games, especially those still in their original boxes. Honestly, if I’d stocked up on Pokémon Red and Blue back in the ’90s, I might’ve been ready to retire by now! It was awesome seeing the local community of gamers and collectors come together to talk shop and expand their collections....

Above we have a box of Genesis games in both red, black, and white label

An assortment of Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges

A lot of artists there combining their craft with the pop culture of video games.

The sticker shock of the retro in box video games.

Nintendo 64 and Wii U consoles for sale.

They even had tables setup with Nintendo and Super Nintendo Minis to game on
One really cool part of this event is they had a table with indie developers setup to let you test their games. I talked to a really cool gentleman who developed a platformer that is on Steam right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3366170/Jirai_the_Red_Panda/
I walked out of there with a bunch of stickers for my daughter, a Pokemon card for my son, and I grabbed Star Wars Episode III for Xbox. I have always wanted to play it and never really had the chance.
That's my post. Support local events. Shop local, and stay safe our their gamers.
