A quick rant on being an adult gamer...

Being an adult is a tough gig. You work 40 hours a week. You got responsibilities like raising a family. There is that long list of chores; cooking, cleaning, and laundry to name a few. Don't forget your exercise because your metabolism has slowed down exponentially since your high school days. There are not enough hours in the day to get all that done, nevermind a solid gaming session. Also, add in the fact that we are constantly exhausted so when that free time does present itself we use it for napping. I know, I know these are totally first world problems, but it does kinda suck.

There are tons of games I want to sink my teeth into but I just do not have the time. These big story driven games I find myself just sticking to the main quest just so I can get closer to beating the game because I am not sure when I can hop back on again and play. Sorry settlers that need my assistance protecting them from bandits. For the sake of time I will have to sacrifice your lives and all you have built so I can reach end game. Oh, and DLCs? Forget about it! No time! You get a game of the year edition and it comes with a bunch of DLCs and story expansions. You tell yourself little lies like "oh I will come back and do the DLCs at a later time" but you know that time will never come. 1000s of hours of virtual unexplored territory left forever waiting for me to hit the log in button.

Should I just throw in the towel and hang up my mouse and keyboard? Should just give up and banish myself to mobile gaming? Angrying birds and crushing candy? No! I will continue trying to squeeze gaming in where I can. The days where my kids go to grandmas or my wife falls asleep early thats when I will bask in the glow of a computer monitor. Those are the days I will embrace my gaming library in all its glory. If not, there is always time when I retire. Only about 3 more decades.

Thank you for listening to my quick rant. Let me know if you feel the same way. Like always embrace the inner nerd and stay safe out there gamers.
