Mission 7 Ramsees Hed Docking Port
The saga continues as I play through the classic Star Wars PC game Dark Forces. I have been super preoccupied with some other titles and Dark Forces have been collecting virtual dust on my Steam account. I want to get back into the game as my ultimate plan is to play every title in the Dark Forces saga for my Reliving the Classics series.

If you recall in our last mission we rescued former Imperial turned Rebel Crix Madine from an Imperial Detention Center. His Intel named General Rom Mohc has the head of the Dark Trooper Project. He also indicates there are two major locations in the production of the Dark Troopers; a Robotics Facility and a final assembling factory named the Arc Hammer. Those specific locations where unknown to the newly defected officer. What was known was the Empire was not transporting the materials through their regular channels. Organized crime was contracted for transporting materials to the Robotics Facility using smugglers. The mission was to infiltrate the Ramsees Hed docking port and place a tracking device on the smugglers freighter.

The level itself is a lot more straight forward and simple than the last few that caused me to rip my hair out. You start off with an amazing Star Wars score that gives goosebumps as Kyle Katarn engages in fire fights with stormtroopers and smugglers. The smugglers are Gran's with thermal detonators that immediately become annoying as the blasts tears through your shield. You also meet a new baddie in the form of Gamorrean Guards which kind of foreshadows who the ring leader of this organized crime group might be.
Not much to really write about with this level. Its pretty straight forward. Shoot a few stormtroopers, find coloured keys, gain access to where the smuggler ship is and plant the tracker. It was simple but a more enjoyable level. Great fire fights with stormtroopers and amazing level design. There is a part of the map where the interior of the building looks a lot like the Tantive IV from A New Hope. There is a room where I blasted some Imperial Officers and the room had monitors and screens that where spot on Star Wars 70s Sci-fi.

Overall really fun level that sets up finding the secret locations of where these Dark Troopers are built. I have a feeling we will be seeing some other familiar faces real soon.
Until then I hope enjoyed another nerdy blog entry. Stay safe out there gamers.
